BES10 Install, not impressed so far...

Ok, so i have followed the documentation and latest port number kb article and am still getting the same issues, on two new server builds.

Running 2008 r2 x64 on vmware.

built new bdsadmin account with relevant rights.

Installed BDS then MDS (not UDS yet) as per the tutorial.

Configured ports.

Now both servers will only login using the bdsadmin account into BDS.  The same for MDS and i only see the v5 bes express server.

Why?

What am i doing wrong?

Re: BES10 Install, not impressed so far...

one other thing i notice on both servers is the following information item in the system log:

application popup: MS visual c++debug library: debug error!

program:..motion\blackberry device service\bas\external\bin\bas-ncc.exe

heap corruptio detected: after normal block (~117) at 0x384c0f60.

crt detected that the application wrote memory after end of heap buffer.

(press retry to debug the application)

I can't help you with the eventlog error but when you say

Do you mean that you can only RDP into the servers or you mean the admin interfaces of the BDS Website? I might have this wrong but if you are trying to sign in as yourself that will only work if you have yourself set up as an admin user. So in BlackBerry Solution Management, create a user adding the person you want to be an admin ( you dont need to assign a password for device.) and make sure you add them to the Administrators group.

Re: BES10 Install, not impressed so far...

right ok,. i had assumed as the BDS had linked to AD i should simply logon....  I meant interfaces.

I'll add myself as an admin...

Re: BES10 Install, not impressed so far...

ok, that has worked, i think.  i now have BAS and AD authetication as my user  account under manage users section in BAS.

i can also login now using my ad account into BDS and MDS and see both the express box and bes10 box...

Yes. I dont have a device on that server so i added myself in there so that i could administer it. Are you using BlackBerry Management Studio for that?

Well all looks as it should now, i can see both servers in MDS and my account twice - one with device and one withour a device as i expect..
