I have installed BDS with no issues. However, the Blackberry Mobile Fusion Studio service will not start. I have removed and reinstalled it to no avail. I also tried installing it on another server, and am having the same issue. The errors in the application log are generic and not useful. Is anybody else having this issue?

When installing the BDS and BMF, port "443" is used by both. So if installing both onto the same machine, i would recomend running the BDS on port "8443" and allowing the BMF to use port "443".
When you add the BDS to the BMF, make sure you specify the port usaing the new port number.
When installing, the ports are listed and can be changed near the end of the BDS install.
Hope this helps.
BDS = Blackberry Device Service
BMF = Blackberry Mobile Fusion

This is not the issue whatsoever. They are using different ports.
The issue is that the BBMF Service will not start. Even if I start it manually, it will not start.

I'm trying to install Fusion and I have the exact same issue.
Tried to change BAS https port but it's not ok, uninstall / reinstall, etc...
Really strange, keep looking for a solution...

Could you try the below and check if it resolves the issue?
Copy the msvcr71.dll file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Device Service\BAS\external\bin\msvcr71.dll to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ and then start the service manually.

The copy of this file did not work for me.
Even tried a reboot and it still will not start.
