Ensure your BlackBerry Enterprise Server settings are up to date

To ensure the best possible BlackBerry® experience  we recommend ensuring your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server settings are up to date and follow our recommended configuration.


On January 22, 2011, new IP addresses were added to us.srp.blackberry.com and made active along with the current IP addresses for the Americas region. This change was made to ensure our BlackBerry Enterprise Server customer base located in the United States is configured to take full advantage of all BlackBerry business continuity features of the BlackBerry Infrastructure.


What will happen on June 25, 2011?

On June 25, 2011, the current IP addresses for the Americas region are scheduled to be removed from us.srp.blackberry.com, which will leave only the new IP addresses for the United States. The removed IP addresses will still support the srp.na.blackberry.com address pool.


The majority of BlackBerry Enterprise Server configuration settings, should not experience any impact as a result of this change. We have, however, identified a possible configuration setting that may cause sporadic connectivity issues.


If you use the US DNS of us.srp.blackberry.com and only allow certain IPs on your firewall, you may have already experienced or may experience intermittent connectivity issues. For more information, please refer to knowledge base (KB) article KB27269: New IP addresses for SRP host us.srp.blackberry.com and possible BlackBerry Enterprise Serv....


If you experience these issues, please review your BlackBerry Enterprise Server settings to ensure you are using the correct SRP address and that all appropriate IP ranges listed in the KB articles below are allowed through your network firewall.
