Exchange 2003 and Bes 10 sync issues

I have:

Exchange 2003 sp2

on Win server 2k3

Bes 10

on Win 2k8 R2

We have the "normal" activesync issues with iOS devices and exchange, where calendar invites show up on outlook but not the phone. But we just got two new Z10 users. One has been good for just over a week. One I just joined the otherday to the BES and now she says she cannot get email...then no calendar items were sync'ing.

Is anyone else running into this activesync issue? Which log file exactly would be the one to look in to see the issues...I do not have a z10 to do any testing or walk the user though...so that also makes it slightly fun.

Thanks,

P

Re: Exchange 2003 and Bes 10 sync issues

User did a battery pull, no sync still.

Is there a way from the phone to "Force" an update to activesync. Like on iOS or android you can hit the refresh, old BB was reconcile. etc.

I"ve been bugging my higher ups for a z10.....but with only 2 users so far...no luck.

AH i should add. I removed her email profile waited( bes 10 takes forever to deploy the jobs) and then added it back. She was prompted to put her network password in and now sync is happening. I will post up if it is still working.

Not fully sure what happened. They are syncing, but we did find many corrupt calendar and other items in the users exchange.

Re: Exchange 2003 and Bes 10 sync issues

When you have a corrupt contact or Clanedar entry you can do the following

Contacts fix

In outlook Make a new folder for contacts called backup

move all contacts to the folder and wait for all to be removed from device

then pull battery on device and put back in

After device boots move contacts from backup to the contacts folder and wait for them all to appear

Make a new contact in outlook and see if it gets to the device.

Calendar Fix

in Outlook

highlight calendar
goto file import/export
choose export to file
choose Persoanl folder pst, next
make sure calendar is highlighted and choose subfolders if you have them, next

save to desktop with a name you can remember, Finish
Click ok on screen popup

Go to view, arange by events
delete all entries.

close outlook and any word files, open outlook back up after 30 seconds.

Then
goto file import/export
import from another program or file, next
choose Persoanl folder pst, next
find the file and import
Choose highlight calendar and Finish
Change view back to what you want and try again.
