what all i need to check? i am using exchnage 2010.
do i need to specify cas array?
whether the service account shoud have mailbox in 2010 like BES5 with sentas permission?
and SMTP configuratation needs to be done?
i dont have a router server... my network we already have a BES 5 running.

Have you created an email profile and entered your CAS array on the 'Server Name' field under 'Email Profile Settings'?
If you used the same account to install BDS that you use for your BES 5 install then it's fine.
Do you point your current BDS to the BES 5 router as this also works fine.
Is Active Sync enabled on your Exchange server as some admins disable it. for info, it's enabled out of the box.

Yep, no more MAPI so no need for the service account and the million permissions that go with it, but you can still use the BESAdmin 5 account (as per the official BlackBerry documentation) to save the hassle of creating another account

Thanks! this works now
created a email profile with server as CAS FQDN
Assigned the same to BB users
Activated active sync on user properties
enabled firewall to allow discoveryservice.blackberry.com on port 443
Result : you get the Active sync mail flow with BES encryption.
