Permissions for Mixed Exchange Environment

Finally got to the point where I'm starting my upgrade.  For a few months I will have a mixed Exchange 2003 and 2010 environment.  Because of this, I'm configuring permissions for both as documented in the installation guide.  Some permissions are configured in ESM for 2003 and some in EMC for 2010.  My question is regarding the AD permissions.  For 2010, the guide states to run the following:

"Add-ADPermission -InheritedObjectType User -
InheritanceType Descendents -ExtendedRights Send-As -User "BESAdmin" -Identity

Whereas for 2003, the the guide simply wants you to use ADUC and manually apply the send as permission to the OU(s).  Aren't these two tasks accomplishing the same thing?  I'm following the guide for both 2003 & 2010... and this step seems redundant.  If I use ADUC that should be enough, correct?

Re: Permissions for Mixed Exchange Environment

Yes, that is correct. You can either use ADUC or the Powershell. The command listed is an option for those admins who prefer the shell.
