Problem opening BAS web console

Hello and good day!
I'm having this major problem for about a week, the thing is i can't access de BAS web console neither on a remote host/pc nor directly in the server. I had BES 5.0.0 MR 1 but then i updated to the last (SP 3 and MR 7), this was because i had a problem with mails since none of my users was sending and receiving correctly. So after the update the mail problem was solved but now i can't manage my users from the BAS Smiley Sad

When i try to open the BlackBerry Administration Service on the explorer i get no certificate warning and then the message that the webpage cannot be displayed. However if i open the BlackBerry Monitoring Service i get the certificate warning, after that i get to load the page ande then it shows this message:

"Unable to connect to the BlackBerry Administration Service.
The BlackBerry Monitoring Service will continue to monitor your servers using the last saved server configuration. Click Test Connection to try to connect to the BlackBerry Administration Service. If successful, you will be redirected to the BlackBerry Monitoring Service Login page."

Then it has a "Test Connection" link, i click on it but then the same page just reloads, i guess showing thtat the test was failed.

I have 429 users, BES 5.0.3 MR 7 on a Windows Server 2003 working with Exchange 2007, Any ideas??

Thank you very much in advance!!!

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

We need some info, do you have any errors in your BAS AS logs?

default location :\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerryEnterprise Server\Logs

Did you update the monitoring software to SP3?

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

Ok first of all thank you for responding so quickly Smiley Happy

Now for the logs i add some extracts of today's BAS AS:

(you can see several errors and exceptions, such as "  Local XARecoveryModule.xaRecovery  got XA exception javax.transaction.xa.XAException" or " Error trying to connect to provider java:/ClusterJMSProvider, XAException.XAER_RMERR")

Also to mention that the update to SP3 is for every component of the BES.

Some additional info:

- I have all components installed on the same server.

- The service ports have been changed since i couldn't even acces the monitoring service console as i mentioned previously, so now i have HTTPS - 644 and HTTP - 18280

- After i changed those ports and clicked the Synchronize button on the Administration Service - High Availability tag, i get an error message: "Synchronization failed, you should retry the synchonization, verify that the database server is running and connected to the network, or contact customer support".

- All my BES - SQL services are up an running.

- Database authentication method is Windows (trusted)

- I also changed the static port for SQL server to 666, also did it in the SQL configuration manager for every ip address on tcp/ip protocol.

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

Sorry another important thing I forgot to mention:

Before the update as i mentioned the version was 5.0.0 MR1 and the main reason to update was to correct a problem with sending and receiving mails. But before that i did some tests and other things to try to solve it, one of those things was to change the service account password. I have the BesAdmin which is in the administrators group of my server and has every privilege needed for the exchange and AD. My new password includes some characters like **-+_.

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

Ok, checked the KB but the thing is I didn't create a new service account! I just changed the password for the existing one, which by the way is the same account I have used for almost 4 years since I began with BES 4., and this account does have the proper permissions.

Also when the account's password was changed, so were the ones for each BES service log in, then restared the computer and all started correctly.

Should I now better create a new service account and follow each task in the KB????? Or maybe keep analysing the logs for errors????? Any help please.

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

ok I though you said new service account.

This is what I would do.

remove complex chars for a bit and see if you can access BAS.

reinstall BAS, it isnt that bad to do and wont wreck your install.

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

Ok I will follow your advice, just a couple of questions before:

1. Won't the new password of the BesAdmin account make the server unstable or change something else? Or the only thing I should worry about is changing also the services log in?

2. How do I reinstall only the BAS? Using only my SP3 setup?

Thanks!!

2. How do I reinstall only the BAS? Using only my SP3 setup? That should work or download a trial for the full installer files

Thanks!!

Re: Problem opening BAS web console

Good day!

So I did both things: Changed my BesAdmin password to use only letters and numbers; reinstalled the BAS component. However I still can't access the web console Smiley Sad

In your opinion what's missing? or what should I do next?

Thanks!
