Phil, these mechanisms are in place for security not for inconvenience to our customers.
Please contact support using the normal channels if you require assistance.
I think everyone can agree that it is frustrating that RIM user level applications are effectively treated the same as the core OS, when it comes to disposition / removal. Alright, well at least Phil and I can.

Will do. At the time the version I had wasn't available so the tech suggested upgrading everyone to a version that is available, then denying the same software so it's removed.
