Unable to install 5.0.1 MR1 for Domino

I am currently on Domino 8.0.1, and trying to install MR1 for 5.0.1 in a Windows 2008 SP2 environment. Everytime I go to install I get the following error:


Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file exists and is writable.


I've verified that the install_log.txt file exists in the following directory: c:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs\Installer. I followed the installation instructions in Release Notes, and I even tried a recommended workaround for a 5.0.0 MR1 install known issue:


  • Create a shortcut for the besn501mr#.msp.
  • Right-click the shortcut, and then click Properties.
  • In the Target field, type the following text: msiexec.exe /update besn5011.msp_file_location.
  • Click OK.
  • Right-click the shortcut, and then click Run as.
  • Select the following user option, and specify an administrator's login information.
  • Click OK.

    Has anyone run into this yet with 5.0.1 MR1 for Domino?
