We are currently using BES 4.1. It is installed on 1 server with the databases on the same server. We are moving BES onto a new server with SQL 2005 on that server and need to upgrade to version 5 in the process. Could anyone please offer advice on the best way to do this.
Should we upgrade to 5 on the existing server and then move the databases and users over to the new server with a fresh install of version 5 or is there a better way?

Since BES 5.0 is so different, I would set it up all on its own and on its own instance on SQL. You can create another instance on SQL with out a reboot too.
Once tested and running, use transporter to move users over which will not require any activation.
Make sure the encryption level is the same on both servers.
