What's The Deal With The Secret Sauce?

Hello All,

Can anyone help explain or point me to documentation on connecting mobile devices to our network resources using UDS or BDS?  We do not plan on providing direct VPN access for mobile devices.

I have seen articles describing MDS with BDS as BlackBerry's "secret sauce" (http://devblog.blackberry.com/2012/03/enterprise-app-development/).  In another article on Mobile Fusion, it is described as BES like (http://bizblog.blackberry.com/2012/03/mobile-device-roadmap/):

BlackBerry Mobile Fusion is designed to establish and maintain a BlackBerry Secure Connection from the business network to the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, leveraging the unique RIM infrastructure that IT departments around the world know and trust.

We have tested playbooks with BDS and have only been able to connect to HTTPS servers.  No SSH. Not RDP.  No Windows file shares.  I can do all these with my phone and BES.

Does anyone know what access is available to connect mobile devices to company servers using BDS and UDS?
