Your account cannot be anthenticaded!

Hi community guys!

 

System: SBS2011 - Exchange 2010 - BES10

 

I'm in front of a very annoying issue with the BES10 and  am losing all my hair on it.

After thousand issues with the installation, i finally made it and i can access the different web consoles.

 

Create user ok.

Create email profile ok.

Activate my brand new Z10 with it ok.

 

But not totally...

 

At the end of the activation, the device ask me to update my password.

Then occurs the failure.

 

"Your account <account name> - <mail address> cannot be authenticaded with your service provider. Please make sure that the account settings are correct"

 

I tried many things such this post:

I heard some that i'll have to include inheritable permissions from this objetc's parent in the AD users and computers with the user you try to work with, but the trick did not make it.

 

My credentials are good, i've verified the whole configuration. I can't pass through.

I even restored the Z10 with factory defaults but nothing changes...

 

So BB magicians, any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hello MaxTPS,

Thank you for your question regarding authentication issues. 

 

Can you please confirm if you can access ActiveSync from the BES10 server? Here is a great tool for testing that out.

hi,

 

sorry for the late answer but i've been on vacation until this morning.

 

So, i used the activesync tool to test accessibility to the server.

As you can see, it works but i have a certificate problem. (here's another problem to fix, the certificate seems to be expired)

maybe this is a stupid question, but in the screen below, i have to enter the the server name

but which server ? FQDN of the exchange server or the mail server address of the provider ?

UPDATE!

 

i've tried to do some other tests.

 

I've erased the balance so my workspace doesn't exists anymore.

I tried to configure an email account directly from parameters>add account>advanced>MS ActiveSync

i used my AD credentials and the external FQDN of the Exchange Server.

 

And this works! I have my emails, able to send it from the Z10 and getting back into the outlook sent items, the calendar seems to work from and to the device with straight sync, the contacts also sync correctly even when i modified from the outlook, i also the modification on the BB Z10.

 

In brief, it works as my old 8900 used to work with my BES5 in the oldtimes.

 

I don't understand why this isn't work through the "normal" activation....

I did.

This works until the SSL certificate step.

It says that the hostname doesn't match with any name on the certificate on the server : localname

until you get your SSL cert straightned out you will have issue with more than just BES

 

i used godaddy for my multi cert

 

i used the following FQDN for mine

 

autodiscover.domain.com
exchange10.domain.com LAN name
legacy.domain.com becasue of migration
SMTP.domain.com
mail.domain.com

 

I also did a URL forwarder of webmail.domain.com to https://mail.domain.com/owa/ to make it easier for users to remember
