"Orphans" or "Ghost" messages with BES and exchange 2007.

I am getting a lot of ghost messages...

Hard delete in on, message state database is upto 500..

Only happens with one user,

He uses Outlook, iPad, Mail Mac and BB to check his emails..

After viewing the logs, I found out that all orphans have the same error:

I think something is modifying the messages being deleted.... What can it be????

I just confirmed, all messages where deleted on the user iPad.....

Can the iPad be the problem?

Could be, test it some more.

maybe you can try a second account with the ipad and see if it effects a different user.

since you mentioned Mac Mail

Microsoft Entourage does not support Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) connections to Microsoft Exchange Servers, instead Microsoft Entourage uses the following protocols:

  • Microsoft Entourage uses Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) to access calendar information on the Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Microsoft Entourage uses Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for the global address list
  • Microsoft Entourage uses Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP) for email folders
  • Microsoft Entourage uses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) to send email messages

For details, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 832960 at http://support.microsoft.com/.

MAC Mail info

Since it uses legacy components, BES does not pick it up.
