123 symbol

Howdy!  On occasion I get a 123 symbol in the upper right corner over my signal strength indication symbol.  Does anybody know what this is for?  I can not locate it in any of the PDF manuals.....

Thanks

Re: 123 symbol

Hello,

That usually meanst that Num Lock is active on your keyboard.

Cheers!

Re: 123 symbol

That's odd......it shows up, then dissappears, and comes back, even if I am not using the keyboard.  It is active while I am on my home screen.  I will check tho if my numlock is on....thanks!  I will keep you posted if that solves it....Smiley Tongue

Re: 123 symbol

I checked on the numlock, and no, it is not active, or accidently left on.  Any other ideas on why it will come and go?

Re: 123 symbol

Mmmmmm,

The 123 symbol appears after I lock the screen, then open it up again.  To make it temporarily disappear, I depress the green phone key in the lower left corner of the phone.  Still puzzled!

Re: 123 symbol

Hmmm...odd indeed...I cannot replicate what you report...so....

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

Re: 123 symbol

I tried quick pull, but no luck.  I will do a battery pull and see what happens.

Re: 123 symbol

It is your indicator letting you know your keyboard is in "number" mode.

Try pressing the lower left shift key to unlock from the num mode.
