5-Month Old Phone stops working



My experience with Blackberry has been the worst ever. Bought a phone 5months back & suddenly one day 3 of its keys(of the keyboard) were not responding properly, everything else was working fine. It was handed over to Rel Digital (from where i bought), in a condition that , to thme also looked okay and it was assured to us that the phone should come back to us within a week. They sent it to BB's center in B'lore. Now after over a month, they all come back to me saying it is damaged beyond repair. THE PHONE WAS WORKING wen handed over!!! It is claimed that there is water damage, which is not covered under warranty. BUT, there was no such damage reported at Rel Digital! After keeping it with you for a month, why is it not possible that the DAMAGE indeed happened either at RD or BB's service center.  Who pays for it, a phone which is under warranty??? You must replace the phone. THIS is not RIGHT....

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

While I sympathize with your situation, please understand that, as a user-to-user community, no one here can answer your question with any level of authority whatsoever. BlackBerry provides zero front line support to end users, including warranty...all support starts with the carriers, authorized resellers, and authorized service centers, all who can escalate cases into BlackBerry at no charge to the end user.

So, your escalation path is not here, in these forums. Rather, it is through your service center and/or place of purchase...even if they may so far not have been helpful, you need to escalate with them to their management levels. You have no free path by which to bypass them. You might also want to consider contacting your local consumer protection agencies to see if they can advise you as to your rights (which differ by region/country/etc.).

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the initial question, since you are bypassing the contract you signed upon purchase. If you wish to investigate that, you can review it here:
