Re: Re: 8100 and 8120 Shutter Sound

I have often thought that maybe there is a reason it is difficult to turn this sound off, not only on the BB but on most mobile phones, as well. A lot of places (say, courtrooms, for example) do not allow cameras, and therefore camera phones, to be on the premesis for privacy and security reasons. A lot of people simply do not want their picture taken for similar reasons of confidentiality. So... I've thought that maybe by making it difficult to silence the shutter, phone manufacturers are somehow trying to make it so that it is difficult to take a picture without anyone around you knowing you are doing so... That's just my guess, maybe it's entirely wrong, but I've often thought it sort of makes sense...

But not for CDMA phones, unfortunately

BerryAnnoying and Peek-A-Boo (another option for GSM) do not work on CDMA phones.  Why?  I have no clue.  And there are plenty of very legitimate reasons to want to take silent photos -- nature watching, classroom chalkboards, sleeping baby (to name a few).  Not to mention the fact that the sound is just downright annoying.

I keep hoping someone makes an application that will work on CDMA phones, but so far no luck.
