I've noticed that generally my wi-fi hotspot browser works fine (a bit unreliable but there you are) except when I try to log-in to the two sites that I really need to- work's webmail and my bank. Both are https and I get no error messages, just a white screen with the cursor stuck to the left hand side when I reach the log-in page (Don't know if it's relevent, but I notice that I can't use the "Browse" button on flickr's up-load page either- nothing happens).
I've made sure my tls is set to handheld, and want to use the web-browser only over wi-fi networks (home, library, pub etc.) I've no BIS/BES plan and am PAYG, as my thoughts were that as I had a wi-fi browser I could use this as I do my PDA (Palm TX- no problems with webmail) and swap a phone and a PDA for one device.
Is there anyway of accessing https sites under these conditions? Or is this another problem that requires a data plan?
I'm using v 126.96.36.199 and am on 02 UK
Any help gratefully received!

Yes you can access https pages from your BlackBerry. Problems with webpages usually stem from the browser options you have enabled/disabled or the website itself. Many websites are not yet designed for access from mobile devices.
Try adjusting some of the options on your BlackBerry web browser. Open the browser, press the menu key, select Options, and finally Browser Configuration. Modify some of the settings and try your websites again. Personally I have everything enabled except for Use Background Images as it just seems to make pages slower to load.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried every setting change I can think of but it still won't load. I'm wondering if there's just something about that site that won't work with a BB (or at least an 8120). The site is https://webmail.keele.ac.uk/src/login.php in case anyone with an 8120 would like to try. Just can't get the log-in page to resolve.
Thanks again for your help,

I have a Blackberry Curve and have the same problem while trying to access a https login page. White screen, cursor stuck in the upper left corner, no screen rendering.
I've tried the different browsers available and have tried turning on/off diff options but no go. One of the websites is our corporate email (Zimbra) and they have a login page specifically for mobile devices. Can't get to that either.
Our iPhone and Treo users can get to it fine. I don't have enough samples to know if this is a Blackberry issue or a Verizon issue.
Anyone? Thx in advance.
