Welcme to the Frums...
From the home screen - click the menu (blackberry button ) and click show all. See if you see it hiding in there. Also check your themes and maybe change themes to see if it is theme related.

You have to go into the options to seperate the icons. By default the phone out of the box put emails and sms in the same folder (mail icon). Here's how to seperate them!
Click on that mail icon and then hit the menu button.
Scroll down to options and choose it!
Than click on general options, and scroll to where it says "SMS and Email Inboxes". Change it from "Theme Controlled" to "Separate". Hit the menu button again and choose save! That's it! You'll see the SMS icon!!!
