9300 - BB App World icon displayed but no app running

I recently reinstalled BB App World and it works fine. However, whenever the BB restarts with QuickPull, the AW icon is displayed with all the other icons when the menu key is held down. But if the AW icon is selected, AW does not appear. Nor does it appear if selected from the "All" screen.
Any ideas pse?

  • I suggest deleting AW from Options > Advanced > Applications.
  • Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
  • Then, using your BlackBerry browser go to www.blackberry.com/appworld and reinstall.

Sorry, it's difficult to understand "same thing happens"... etc., what failed? Were you able to download again, or what?

Yes - deleted, rebooted, downloaded and reinstalled as instructed.
Same thing happens - AW icon on Menu screen but no app running behind it - just the icon displayed.

Is this a BES connected employer issued device with an IT Policy? Check Options > Security > Information.

Don't think so - no BES only BIS. BES not connected.

Would you try this... Go through steps 1-2 again (delete and reboot)

and then using your BlackBerry browser, go to www.theiexplorers.com/ota

 

and download AppWorld for your operating system version there?

Tried all the above again with AW from theiexplorers.com and problem remains. Well strange!
