9300 email setup

Hi

Been googling like crazy to find solutions... nothing yet. Please help:

1. My email setup only has the Enterprise Account option.

2. I don't need/want an Enterprise account.

3. I've followed advice to enter my normal (gmail) details here, but this doesn't work.

4. I've set my IMAP to 'allow' on my gmail settings.

What else do I need to do? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Robes

Re: 9300 email setup

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.

So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.

Good luck.

Re: 9300 email setup

Hi

I've read some instructions that say I must select "add an email address" - do you know where this option is? As I can find it nowhere... just the enterprise account keeps coming back as the only option.

Thanks.

You will get the "personal email setup" or "setup an internet email account" once you've followed the instructions I've posted above.

Do you have THE BlackBerry Data Plan, as asked above?

Re: 9300 email setup

[ Edited ]

I think my account settings through Altech Autopage (who regularly prove their uselessness) are wrong. I'm only now being told about BIS etc. which noone mentioned at the shop. And they can't answer me directly about the Data Plan without me being sold something extra.

Think I might return BB and go back to simple Samsung... so much easier.

Thank you for the help though.

Re: 9300 email setup

On your profile here, you have Vodacom RSA listed as your mobile provider.

Re: 9300 email setup

Vodacom is my phone's network, but my contract account is through Altech - does this make a difference to the services? Should I adjust that on my profile?

Re: 9300 email setup

Doesn't matter to me... just call the one to whom you pay your mobile phone billing.
