9720 won't connect to iMac

Hi,

 

I have a BB 9720 and am trying to sync it with my iMac with no luck.

 

Every time I plug it in to the computer using a USB cable, I get a message saying "Blackberry® Desktop Software failed to connect to your Blackberry® device. Reconnect your device and try again."

 

I am using an iMac 14,3 i5 2.9ghz; OSX 10.9.3 and Blackberry Software 2.4.0 (build 18); BB 9720 7.1 bundle 2839 (v7.1.0.1046, Platform 9.105.0.16)

 

Any help greatly appreciated.
