Hi, since i bought this phone in April, its always been giving me SOS mode except for when i orient the phone in a certain way, in certain spots of my room. Other that that, i can't go anywhere in the house, its just SOS. I bought the phone with WIND Mobile. Thinking it was WIND that had the problem, i unlocked the phone to try it with Fido. It's confirmed that it is NOT the wireless carrier that has the problem, its the actual phone itself.
Is there a fix for this?
I don't want to believe that I spent $400 to buy the phone and its nothing but an expensive paper weight.

i have the same problem. when i switch on the phone, the network comes for 4-5 seconds only and then in sos mode. i have inserted my sim in other phone and it works fine in other mobiles. what should i do.
When you boot up, the phone usually searches for signal and then blinks with the network operator name. What does it do in your case? I mean, when it searches for operator network what does the error come up with? Did you buy a used phone?

i have done everything you said but no result. do i have to repaire it in your service center .. is this a hardware fault?
Technically speaking, "no result" is impossible to understand...I must assume that the behavior you see is unchanged via the various steps.
Do note please that I have no service center...no one here on this thread works for BB...refer:
At an internet distance, the best that can be hoped for regarding hardware issues would be a deductive process...ruling out all other possible causes, leaving hardware as the most likely. But, that process takes quite some time as there are many other things to be ruled out, each requiring you to conduct whatever steps are required. We have not done anywhere near enough of that to make any conclusion whatsoever, and if you are going to submitted your device to a service center, then it would be time for us to step back and let those who have the device in their hands take over.
Good Luck and let us know!!

Personally, i think that the SIM card is bad or is not making a good connection, if you changed SIMs, get a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol and GENTLY clean the sim contact points if accessible. If so, let the phone dry off before putting the sim back in. Remember, rubbing alcohol is 70-90% water, so try not to get it anyware but on the port.
