Hi Wolex. First question, did you use Blackberry Protect? If not, no there is no way unless you are on a BES server.

Found 7.0.0.585 and 7.1.0.74. Installing .585 now, will let you know how it performs.

Re: 9900 Bluetooth locking up phone when pairing with 2011 BMW

Here is what I have heard from my sales agent at BMW in two emails rec'd today:

"The problem lies on the BMW side, not Blackberry. The car is requesting 1000’s of emails from the phone which causes the phone to freeze. It’s only supposed to request 100 at a time.

AG is working on a software fix. The software fix was supposed to be available by now, but I received an update from the development team in AG working on this that it has been delayed to an undetermined date. It has been difficult getting information from them.

It’s a priority for BMW and RIM."

AND...

"Here is how you can use the Bluetooth only in the meantime, but you won’t be able to use connected drive to have emails transferred from your device or read by the system:

-go to manage connection

-select networks and connection below

-select Bluetooth connections

-click the blackberry symbol beside your phone button, and select options

-click off  A/V Remote Control Target

-click off Encryption

Let me know if the Bluetooth works, the fix will come shortly."

Re: 9900 Bluetooth locking up phone when pairing with 2011 BMW

Same problem. Just bought the 9900. When trying to turn bluetooth on it locks up and have to take the battery out to restart the phone. I'm really sad that I bought this phone without first reading some reviews. Most are horrible (battery life, this issue). I also have another big issue. Whenever trying to play music or video it does exactly the same and have to reboot...... Any clue? Thanks.

Re: 9900 Bluetooth locking up phone when pairing with 2011 BMW

One thing that is not going to change is battery life. I have accepted the fact that I need two batteries per day. With regards to software updates, check out www.blackberryos.com. They post all the latest software releases by the various cellular providers. I am on 7.1.0.342 now and it seems my bluetooth is working fairly ok. In car internet also works with the mobile hotspot enabled, which is a new feature of 7.1.x range of software updates. So we keep trying!
