9900 Software update bug and track-pad problem / Magic ?? Plz Help :(

its been more than a month now and i am facing this.

I have bold 9900, i upgraded my software to 7.1 Bundle 2061(v7.1.0.714 Platform

Since my upgrade, i have been facing several problems:

  • My trackpad wont work while inside the menu or inside an application. It works perfectly fine on the main menu screen, whereas as soon as i enter into an application/messages/email etc, i wont work..it's struck at one place only. I doubted about sensor of trackpad but it shouldnt work fine in the main screen as well, which isnt the case.
  • At irregular intervals, my phone lights would turn on while its on idle and the keypad locked. While the device is locked, Automatically the options between unlock, emergency and cancel are switched randmly as if some magic is happening and an invisible hand is switching between the options.
  • Red light for text, call, email notification would start to blink without any text, email, call etc recieved or missed whatsoever
  • My phone would ring for bbm, but there wont be any. it doesnt happens regularly, but once in a while, like after  2 days.
  • While texting or typing an email with a slightttt speed, letters will be missed..so i have to type each word slowly to make sure no letter is missed. this is very annoying.

I have formatted my phone and reinstalled the same  bundle again, hoping it might solve the issue but the issue remains the same.

Please help, awaiting for responces!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.

You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:

  1. Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
  2. If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
  3. If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
  4. Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
  5. If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents

When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.

If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

Good luck and let us know!
