I called Teuls, my service provider. The tech said that there is a known issue with the batteries from the Bold 9900's that were made prior to September 18, 2011. I purchased my phone August 29, 2011. I was told I could just bring the phone to a Telus store, and they would replace the battery.
Unfortuantely that wasn't my only issue.. Turns out my phone also has "water" damage. I've never gotten it wet, taken in the rain, dropped in the bath etc., (like the salesgirl insisted I've done). so between the combination of the screwed battery and "water" damage that is what is killing my phone. I was also told that RIM will not replace my blackberry because of that. Luckily I have a device protection plan, and am having my new Bold 9900 shipped to me for Monday.
The employee from the device protection plan company said my phone likely has "water" damage to the extreme heat and humidity that has been happening in the city I live in, which is not normal for this time of year.
