9930 Browser Privacy on Sprint

I have Sprint Bold 9930.  I have set to not accept cookies. However it appears they are still on, as my last activities on each site is still indicated each time i visit.  except if i do a battery pull,  but if it is not accepting cookies, what is tracking my useage etc and how do i turn off.  I have deleted history, deleted all data and pulled battery.

Re: 9930 Browser Privacy on Sprint

Hi and Welcome to the Community...and apologies for the delayed reply!

Hopefully you have already sorted this out...but just in case.

Cookies and web usage data are completely separate items. Cookies contain information about your visit to a website (e.g., authentication information, preferences, etc.), storing in on your system so that you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit the site. Usage Tracking simply tracks the different sites you visit, but does not store anything about those visits.

If you have Cookies off, then no new Cookies will be stored starting at the point of turning them off. However, I believe that any Cookies stored prior to turning them off will remain until you clear them manually.

In any event, from what you describe, I would expect Usage Tracking to continue, but the details that would be stored in Cookies to not be stored anymore.

Good luck and let us know!
