Re: 9930 keeps turning off

I work for a government contractor, and more than 50% of our Blackberry 9930 models have this problem right out of the box.  If you tap the back of the blackberry near the camera, the device shuts off and reboots.  Furthermore, a few of the devices have a rattle inside.  Therefore this appears to be a hardware issue, possibly a manufacturing defect.

Supposedly, RIM has acknowledged a problem with this device, but our government customers want answers!

Re: 9930 keeps turning off

Did all these devices come to you at the same time, same batch?

I've seen many 9930s and never seen that problem with that model.

Re: 9930 keeps turning off

I believe they were the same batch, though I'm trying to confirm that.

The model number inside one of the blackberries is RDU71CW

If necessary, I could probably email a video of the issue, or upload it to youtube for a demonstration of the problem.

Re: 9930 keeps turning off

I don't need to know more about the issue. This is a user-to-user community support forum. We are not RIM employees, but volunteers who enjoy assisting other users. RIM personnel rarely comment on queries posted here.

It's simple.. you're not happy with the device, they should NOT be rattling (of course not!) and you need to return them and check each device replaced. I'd suggest that you tell your supplier to get them from a different shipment, store, etc., so likely won't encounter the same issue.
