Acess the internet

yesterday I got my BlackBerry 9520. I wanted to use WhatsApp with a prepaid-card and an internet flatrate. With a wifi-acess I could use WhatsApp but with the 'normal' internet it didn't work. What should I do? My mobile-phone provider told me to contact the BlackBerry buisness.

Could anyone help me?

Re: Acess the internet

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

A few things...so bear with me please.

If memory serves me correctly, WhatsApp requires an adequate BB-level data plan..."generic" data plans are not sufficient to use WhatsApp on a BlackBerry. So, if your "internet flatrate" plan is not a BB-specific plan, then that would explain why it won't work via your carrier data network.

Second, when your provider told you to "contact the BlackBerry buisness" (sic), did they direct you specifically to this site? For you see, this site is not a channel for requesting anything from BlackBerry at all -- this is a user-to-user community of volunteers. Rather, if your provider needed for you to contact BlackBerry, then what they are supposed to do is escalate your case up to BlackBerry...of course, your provider must be a proper BB-supporting provider in order to do so (as well as, of course, they'd need to be a proper BB provider in order to provide you with BB specific services).

So, with that, I can't tell you exactly what to do...in your profile on this site, you've put some numbers into the "My Carrier" information field...that is supposed to contain the name of your mobile service provider...that way we could know which carrier is yours and perhaps then be able to know the answers to some of these questions.

All in all and in general, you need to ring up your provider again...they are 100% responsible for delivery of all services to your device as well as 100% responsible for all of your formal support, including escalation up to BlackBerry (assuming, of course, they are a BB-supporting carrier at all).

Good luck and let us know!
