Address book is empty after sync BB 8830 Desktop 4.3

After synchronizing Outlook and Blackberry, the address book on the blackberry is empty even though desktop manager said it sent over 250 addresses.  When you start email and clink attach address screen comes up and displays

Business

* No Addresses *

 

I tried emptying (desktop manager Clear option) the address book and resyncing, but it still comes up empty.

 

????

Try checking your filtering options in the Address Book.  Go to Address Book, click your Menu key, and then click on Filter in the menu. Check to see if any check boxes are clicked on and if so, uncheck them and check your Address Book. To make sure you have Address Book entries on the BlackBerry, go to the Address Book Options and check to see the number of entries in it there.  If it says you have entries, likely you have a filtered option set and you just have no categories set in your Address Book.

It could be an issue with corrupted data in the Address Book.  Have the end user perform a full backup and then open Advanced option on the Backup/Restore and then select and clear Address Book, then either re-synch or transfer back from the backup file and see if the Address Book populates.  If this does not work or if you get an error on clearing the Address Book, you may need to do a Security wipe on the BlackBerry after the back up and then Register Now and push service books for the services and try re-synchronizing data.
