Alerts for email

I have downloaded some ringtones and alerts for my phone and managed to transfer them from the pc. My question is how can I get my phone to play different alerts and ringtones for different applications. I would like my emails to have a different alert from my sms etc.

Many thanks

Re: Alerts for email

Click on your profile icon and scroll down to advanced. Then select the profile you want to edit. You will then see a whole list of things you can change the alert for. For example click on "phone". Your first setting is "out of holster". This means you do not have the phone in sleep mode or in a BB approved holster. You can change this to none meaning no alert at all. Tone would be your ringer choice. Vibe and ring would vibrate THEN ring. Vibrate is vibrate. Next option is tune. You can select a preloaded ringer or if you want a song you downloaded select browse choose music and choose the song. Next is volume. Low medium high escalating or none. Then repeat notification is none or flashing LED. When turned on your status light will blink red for a time after you missed a call. It works for other alerts as well. Then there is the number of vibrations before the song starts 1, 2 or 3. But you can disregard that if you are not using vibrate. Then remember to change the setting for in holster as well. Hope this all helps if not please feel free to ask for clarification.
