An error was encountered while syncing ZERO

I get the message: "You are about to synchronize your Calendar data for the first time after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.9.4", and gives me the options of: Replacing device data, Merging the data, or Cancelling.  Either of the first two options produces this error message.

This also occurs when attempting to synchronizing my contacts, notes, and tasks.  Music and Pictures do not seem to be affected.

In trying to investigate this problem, I managed to wipe my Blackberry, and had to restore to a month old backup, which works, but not with the files created in my attempts to sync.

I spend a lot of time out of the office, so having up-to-date calendar and contact details is very important to me.

I've got this problem too - is there a fix?
