App Store Disappeared? Help?

Hey I've had my Blackberry Curve 8520 since Christmas day last year and a few months ago I got an update pop up, I usually read them but this particular time I was in a rush and just saw it was an update to the app store to OS 6 (if I remember correctly) so, I accepted the terms and conditions and let it update. I noticed a short while later that after updating, the app store has disappeared so I have no way of purchasing anything on my Blackberry.

 

I was just wondering if anyone knew how this could be solved and, if at any time there will be an update to OS 6 or something similar as I've been waiting for a long time now for it to be updated and I refuse to buy a new Blackberry just for this.

Since you didn't say the OS level you are on, I cannot tell for sure...but here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • KB27043 No App World icon exists after upgrading your App World application

OK...so that KB does not apply to you. Can you try installing AW again, please? From your BB Browser, go here:

www.blackberry.com/appworld

and let it re-install.

I had the same problem - changed service provider & several of my icons disappeared, including my Blackberry App Store (some news arrived uninvited also!). Anyway, thanks for this advice - worked a treat...!
