App World gives "Maximum PIN changes reached" error.

Hi there,

Today i tried to buy the memory booster app. I clicked purchase and it took me to the paypal login page, as it always does. I typed my password in, and it said that it could not connect. I waited a couple of hours, and tried again, to see i got the same error. I tried one more time, and this time it gave me said error - saying that i had reached the maximum number of PIN changes. I tried to research this error, and found a thread on this forum, where the solution was to fill out the following form:

https://www.blackberry.com/CSOHelp/index.do?ft=generic

I tried to do this, but i had to type an order number, and I did not have one, and also, for some reason, it said that my PIN was invalid. I was just wondering if anyone had a solution to my problem. My details are below:

- Carrier - Vodafone

- Model - BlackBerry Curve 8520

- OS - v4.6.1.272

- App World - 1.1.0.20

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Ravi

I'm having the same problem! I get the error code and when trying to set up the order ticket I get invalid pin message. I have a BB Tour. I would love any help with this I can get.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

For the Order Number, you can use just about anything...I used "123456" on some tests that I ran some time ago.

However, the the Invalid PIN issue must be resolved first. Please see your Private Messages on this site for a PM from me with instructions. After that is resolved, you will be able to log your issue on the RIM support site.

Cheers!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!

Your request needs to be sent exactly as follows. Go to this URL:

and fill out the form. Use, in the "Please select a component:" field, the AppWorld Billing/Payment selection. Any other selection will simply route you back anonymously to these public forums. Be sure to also include the reason why you have exceeded your maximum allowable PIN associations to AppWorld (e.g., multiple RMA, warranty replacement, etc.). If you don't have an "Order Number" for that field, just use anything (e.g., "123456").

If the form responds telling you that your PIN is invalid, then please report that fact back here as there is a separate resolution path for that issue.

Cheers!

I also need help with this. I did as instructed and submitted a post in the billing section and have gotten no response. If someone can PM me the resolution to this it would be greatly appreciated since I am ready to return my blackberry and get something else. The lack of support is mind boggling.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

In your situation, your request needs to go to your carrier for formal support of the issue. If they cannot resolve it, they have the ability to escalate into RIM at no cost to you. But your resource for resolution is your carrier.

Cheers!
