oops, I have an ERROR 507 0n my device and on my comp in Blackberry Desktop Software I have a Connection Prompt reading: Application Loader was unable to to connect with your device. Please re-connect device, enter the password,if required and press enter, 

 

I will now disconnect my phone from comp..

Do you have your Device Backup ? Because you may have to Reload your Device OS .Error 507 means no OS or if Device OS become currupt or unable to read and in that situation you have to Load the OS back on your device .Please check this KB and recover your device :

KB02792 : BlackBerry smartphone displays Error message “507” when upgrading BlackBerry Device Software .

Ok I have restarted device and I still get an Error 507. I am now stuck on this page and canno do anything further...

 

I have followed your steps by using ttheKB02792 link , All is ok there, not sure what to do next

salut DesyDevine

remember you can do a backup of your entire device on your PC, using the Desktop Software.

If you had done that in the past, then you today would have been able to restore all your contacts.
