I Tried installing Bloomberg Mobile (free app) and it has frozen. It reads "starting download..." The download did show up in my world but still showed it as downloading. I have uninstalled Bloomberg, logged into paypal and I have turned off phone and pulled battery. Still the display still says that this app is "starting download." It has been doing this for about 7 hoursnow. This is my first BB and I'm enthused about finding a resolution.
Here is general phone info:
Carrier is T-Mobile
OS is v22.214.171.124 (platform 126.96.36.199)
App World v188.8.131.52

FROZEN ON "STARTING DOWNLOAD...."
I have been having the same problem since these Appworld problems started and
have reported it but no solution yet.
My purchased apps in AppWorld are stuck on "Starting download..." and are not accessible from
the menus at all. I have logged on to Paypal successfully but that did not change
anything. I have also deleted/reinstalled AppWorld and done a battery pull but the "Starting download..."
status remains. My free apps work fine. They archive and reload, but he purchased apps
(Vlingo and Word Scramble in my case) are frozen. Can't archive or access them.

FROZEN "STARTING DOWNLOAD...." status in Appworld 1.1
Thanks for your info. Unfortunately my apps that are frozen with the
"Starting download..." status are purchased apps, so I do not even
have the option of downloading them again.
I have no idea how to fix this. I have reinstalled Appworld several
times and done the usual battery pulls to no avail. I think this
needs to be fixed on the RIM Appworld side.

I had a similar problem. The app was "purchased" through paypal but didnt download. I had the email receipts from paypal showing it was paid etc. Anyway, I tried what was suggested, went to "my world", hit the BB button and "logged in", which logged into the paypal account. Then it reconciled with my apps on the phone. It then changed the status of the app I was having trouble with to "ready to download" (something like that anyway, can't remember exactly). Clicked on it, downloaded fine and installed.
I was sceptical about the suggested solution because it was a "purchased" app that I couldnt find a solution for, but it worked great.
Hope this helps.

Were your purchased apps stuck in a "Starting download..." status? Mine were. They got that way
when I first tried to archive them with Appworld 1.1 a few days ago. I have two previously purchased apps (with receipts) that are
in this condition. Northing I do changes anything...Paypay login, reinstall, battery pulls, etc. I have no access
at all to these apps. The free apps, however, archived just fine.

Mfenay, no, I had just purchased an app, it got cleared by paypal and started the download, stopped and came back with an error "problem completing purchase, Unable to obtain license key. Please contact BBappworld cust support". I had the app icon in My World but when I clicked on it it would send me to purchase it again, which I of course didnt want to do. Sent emails to the apps tech service and to bberry appworld but never heard back from either. The login thing seemed to reset it so it could be downloaded properly. Bberry seems to have a disconnect between themselves and the companies selling the apps that needs to be addressed. Not to mention a simpler process for users to get help. I can't believe every blackberry user is willing to scour forums for possible solutions from other users and then be left like yourself, with no answers/solutions and no where to turn.

I hear you on the poor support. It seems that we have to rely on users to
figure stuff out, since Blackberry support (whatever that is) doesn't seem
to respond. So far I am still stuck and have no idea where to go with this,
except that I am certainly not going to purchase anything from App World!
