Re: App is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server!

I've tried this on the Strom and Curve on VZW.  Both devices are on the BES and are having this issue.  I tested this on a non-BES Curve and it worked fine - at least no issues connecting.

This would seem to indicate it is a BES related issue.  Can anyone confirm?

are there people having this "verify network connections" issue that do not have BES or is it just BES users?  Verizon was not helpful when I called and I was the first person reporting it the guy said.  RIM, you have anything yet?

I don't see any settings on the BES that would be causing this issue but I am going to try on my wife's BB later (she is not on a BES) and see if it works for her.

Re: App is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server!

I am able to confirm this.  I was having the same issue with app world while synced with the BES server.  I have wiped my phone and not set up the BES connection and app world works fine.

So, anyone from RIM, is there a work-around for this for us BES users?  Any input would be appreciated!!

[ Edited ]

I actually get an error number when attempting to launch App World if that helps:

'There was a problem

reading data from the

server and App World

must exit. Error type:

100002'

I have a 9530 Storm with the .113 leaked OS, Verizon, and BES enterprise activation.

Re: App is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server!

Also having problems on my Model 8130 with latest OS. Upon downloading appworld I receive the following note:

Error Starting net_rim_bb_appworld: Symbol 'ContentHandlerRegistrationHelper.module Upgraded.' not found.

Any help appreciated.

Re: App is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server!

I opened a ticket with RIM this morning. So my testing shows the following:

  1. AppWorld displays the error on a device activated on a BES only, even with a Blank IT Policy.
  2. AppWorld works fine with a device as long as it's not activated on the BES.
  3. If you run AppWorld before activating, it will continue to work even after activated on the BES.

We need something ASAP before all our users begin calling our helpdesk.

Hello Everyone. Found the solution. Go to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Service Book and delete Desktop [IPPP].

Have a great day !
