Always one to follow the crowrd....
I have the same problem! I did delete the service book, but then the whole thing stopped working, so i undeleted it. Still nothing on the BB apps.

If I goto Options->Advanced Options->service Book
I dont see anything on mine for Desktop [IPPP] and on mine I still get the error Cannot Connect to World Server Please Verify your network connections and try again.

I don't have a Desktop [IPPP] service book to delete.
Also updated to the new .27 version of App World and still getting the same error message: Problem reading data from App World server. Error type: 100002

The new build (184.108.40.206) has been released! This build addresses the issues described in http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17855
It's highly recommended that anyone experiencing any issues upgrade to this build by removing App World and installing the latest version.
