App world not showing on home screen

Hey guys, I've been digging through the forums and the web trying to sort out this issue and can't seem to find any decent solution.

The problem is with downloading app world onto the Blackberry curve 8520. I've downloaded it a few times and it appears in the application folder but yet the icon doesnt appear on the home screen. I've tried: - looking through every other folder in the home screen (including downloads), battery pulls, editing permission settings, deleting/downloading again and still nothing. The phone operates with a version of OS 5 and has the latest wireless updates/software etc.

Is there anyway of getting around this without wiping the phone and starting over? I notice other folk have had the same bother although only when updating to OS6 etc.
