App world updates

I just purchased a new Tour and for some reason blackberry app world is not notifying me when there is an update for 1 of my apps.  My friend has a Curve and she got a message letting her know that there was a newer version of app world, but i never got 1.  does anyone know why this might be happening?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

 

The developers must create an update for each model BB...it may be that they are simply behind in updating the Tour version. Or it may be that they don't need to update for the Tour. The developer is in control, but AppWorld will definitely show different results for different model BB's.

Not really, when i 1st got the Tour i received a message stating that 1 of my programs had an update, but havent got any lately which i didnt think was a big deal, but then when my friend got her message, i thought is was odd that i didnt get 1.  It wouldnt just send certain updates, would you think?

Your friend has a different model BB than you have. The developer must release a different version of their app for each of you. Even though it may seem like it, you both don't technically install the same thing even for the same app. Different model BB = different applications.
