Auto Spell Check Email, but not SMS

My automatic email spell checker is a very important part of my life when I'm typing emails with my thumbs.  However, I absolutely hate an auto spell checker when I'm SMS texting - as a tend to abbreviate.  I can seem to separate the two spell checkers my Tour.  If I turn on automatic spell checking on my outgoing email (what I want), I also get auto spell checking on SMS (what I don't want).

Any way to get around this?

Thanks,.

It wants you to have good spelling Smiley Happy

I don't think you can disable it in one place and not the other.

Aw, come on.  You knew exacty what I meant - and it didn't take me nearly as many characters as it could have!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Auto Spell Check Email, but not SMS

lol, you've got 160 characters! Free the SMS to be all it can be.

Honestly, if I am missing something, and I might be, someone will post a solution here.

Re: Auto Spell Check Email, but not SMS

mcmalburg, have a look in the "Options" menu for the Spell Check functions. There are a few items you can check or un-check when instructing the BB in what to ignore. ( Home Screen > Options > Spell Check  )

Additionally, just above Spell Check in the Options menu, there is an entry for "SMS Text." In there, you'll find the option to "Disable AutoText." Select "Yes" and save. ( Home Screen > Options > SMS Text )

Hope that helps.  Smiley Happy

Re: Auto Spell Check Email, but not SMS

I would suggest that you turn off Spell Check "as you type", one of the spell check options.

That might help some, still not exactly what you need.
