Automatic calling when another call is active

hi
a few days back i had purchased bold 9900 & it has started giving problem ie It Automatically calls the last dialed number when another call is already active.
Please suggest what should i do ?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Thanks for the advice. But i found out that the problem is when the call is active, the screen somehow senses the touch & goes to the new call menu & makes call to the last dialled number.
Please advice what to do ?

yes i did try what u suggested but it didn't solve the problem.

OK Thank you...then I next recommend that you research various public KBs on the matter...here are a few:

  • KB25327 Touch screen remains active while placing a call on the BlackBerry Torch
  • KB28973 Screen does not turn off during an active phone call and icons are unintentionally pressed.

 


 

You also can attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.

 

If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

 

But if the behavior continues, then you may need to consider more drastic measures (e.g., WIPE, Clean OS reload, BBSAK/JLCMDR wipe/reload).

 


 

Then again, since this is so new, you may want to seek out formal support under the terms of your warranty and support contract.
