BB 8900 problems

I live in Moscow and half a year ago I've bought a BB smartphone in UAE. The very first problem i faced was when i came back to Moscow. It was the same as http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Curve-BlackBerry-8900/My-phone-keeps-restarting/td... . My phone won't stop turning on and off by itself. So I had to take it back to UAE and ask them to fix it. It took them somewhat about a month to fix it. Nevertheless after recieving back my phone and using it for 3 days it stopped responding to button pushs.

I've been looking for a BB office in Moscow for a very long time and been told that the only firms that distribute BlackBerry products in Russia are GSM providers, who support only products they sold themselves.

Where can i find a tech support office to fix my smartphone under warranty? Or what should i do?

Re: BB 8900 problems

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Sorry, but all support, including warranty, starts with either your carrier or authorized reseller. They are who you purchased from and it is they who service your warranty. Consequently, to receive warranty service, you must go back again to the shop where you bought it. I wish the answer were better, but that simply is the way it is.

Good luck!

Re: BB 8900 problems

Are there any official RIM, or their representatives offices in Russia at all?

Re: BB 8900 problems

I've no way of knowing...but you are free to dig through the "Contact Us" links on any RIM web pages.

But it's pretty much moot anyway, isn't it? Since all formal support starts with the carriers and authorized resellers, bypassing them would be bypassing your support contract...RIM does provide ways to do that, but it is not free (since it bypasses your support agreement). You can check that out here:
