Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

Did you try to leave out the battery for 5 minutes and then put it in again (with the charger not connected)

If your question was answered, please accept it as a sollution and / or give Kudos ;-)

Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

I am often successful in rebooting a device by leaving it ON the charger an hour and then LEAVE the charger connected > remove the battery a minute, replace the battery and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, see below:

If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.

1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):

"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm

3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

Can you be a little more specific?  Do you hear the standard "connected" sound on the pc when you plug in the device to the USB port?  is the PC recgonizing the device is plugged in?  Since we don't have your phone right in front of us, we need as much info as you can provide if we are to help you.

Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

I would try plugging it in to another USB port and/or USB ports on another PC, just to see if there is any problem with the PC's USB port recognizing the particular device.  If another computer still won't recognize it, it may be a lost cause.

Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

I would do as John advised, find a different PC or a different REAR usb port on the rear of the PC.

If you remain with problems, try wiping the device per the instrutions here:

You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:

http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F

If JL_Cmder does not work, follow this instructional:
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_to_do_next_if_Jl_Cmder_will_not_connect_and_wipe

Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

I am having the same problem (I created a separate thread but more people have responded here). I toko the battery out while the phone was on, because it was running so slow, and now I am getting absolutely nothing from the phone. I have tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, charging it with battery out and in etc, and I am getting absolutely nothing (no lights coming on, no life, nothing).

I tried connecting it to my PC with the USB cable but it doesn't connect, the PC does not recognise anything.

From looking on forums, this seems to be a common problem, surely Blackberry should have sorted this fault out?

The solutions tend to be variations on the theme of taking the battery out and putting it back in while it is plugged into the charger, but this is not working for me.

I should add, the battery was not low when this happened either.

Do you have any suggestions?

Re: BB 9000 WONT TURN ON!

Update... my blackberry has come back to life. I left the battery out over night, and then put it back in in the morning, and I was able to turn it back on. It was a bit slow at first while it sorted itself out, but it seems to be working fine now. The battery was out for about 9 hours overnight.
