BB 9000 how to stop key tones in phone mode?

Under settings/option/key tones I have selected off. That apparently silences key tones only when in message mode. If for example when the phone is in normal profile you type keys for a tel number, the key tones are heard. Does anyone have an idea how to silence key tones when in phone mode other than selecting vibrate or quiet phone profile. This is a change from mhy prior BB's wherein if I selected "key tones" "off", they'd be off for all purposes even if phone was in normal profile.

Re: BB 9000 how to stop key tones in phone mode?

Hi and welcome to the forums! Merry Christmas!

The key tones for the phone cannot be disabled, it's a design feature.

I had it on my Curve as well.

What model did you have where you could silence them?

When you go into a meeting, call voice mail and just hang up,

If you need to check it in the meeting you can highlight it, and it

will not play key tones. You can also highlight a number on an email,

task, of memo and dial it without sound.
