I cannot get my 6 month old Bold 9900 to start. The battery had been run down and after it charged overnight the unit wold not turn on. Red light beacon lights for 15 seconds, then off. Screen stays black. Baterry from another unit does not help. Is this unit dead? Is there a way to pull the address book off of the unit? (BB Manager says the unit's battery is not charged, but I have a new battery in it.)

Can you remove the battery, connect the bb to a wall charger then insert the charged battery?

Another option, Might not be able to do step 1.
see if you can skip step four. Do you use blackberry protect? If so, your data is backed up.
Do you have a recent backup using the desktop manager?
if not, you can also take it to the store to see if they can get it to power on.
