I got up this morning and discovered my BB Bold 9900 was locked up compeltely. Not only did it not respond to the unlock button, I could not power it off either. I finally did a power reset (popped the battery) On power restart, the BlackBerry logo on a black background came up and there was a slow progress bar. It looked like a firmware upgrade. I did not get prompted for one although there was a notification from BB the yesterday. I get the impression it was a high priority security upgrade that required a restart. That's why it was downloaded without promptimg me and locked up the unit to force a power reset.
Anyone else encounter this last night or this morning? (Sept 18 - 19?)
Is there anyway to check is there was a firmware release last night?
Can I check my BB Bold to see what was installed recenetly?

Of course, you have to already know exactly what was there before in order to compare. There's no on-device log of such things.
Note also please that OS updates are NEVER pushed by BB. Rather, they are pushed by your carrier -- each carrier is responsible for their end users, and chooses what to do with them. Hence, BB didn't push this update to you (if that's indeed what happened)...your carrier did. If you want to dig deeper into the question, you should contact them.
An app update (e.g., something in AppWorld) may get pushed by BB...but I've never heard of one being pushed without specific user consent. Very odd...
