BB Bold Tethered Modem Connection Freezing or disconnecting.

Hi all!!

I have a BB Bold and using Windows Vista 64 bit. When I connect to the internet using my Bold as a tethered modem I connect and I can pull 1 or 2 pages at most and then the connection freezes.

Is there some way to prevent the connection to freeze? Are there any settings that I need to correct on my Bold or on my computer? Do I need to have the APN enabled on my phone?

I'll really appreciate your help.

Re: BB Bold Tethered Modem Connection Freezing or disconnecting.

Hi all,

I've experienced the same frustration with the Bold on Vista.  Under XP, the instructions given result in a 100% reliable connection.  Under Vista, the instructions result in an intermittently working connection which goes from 100% full speed to a non-functioning (1-2 mins to load a simple web page, or simply a timeout or DNS error).  I've found that by deleting the dial-up connection, uninstalling the Bluetooth radio driver and the "Standard Modem over Bluetooth Link", then redetecting drivers and setting them up again, the connection starts up and works fine for a while, then eventually stops working again.

Anyone else seeing the same behaviour?

Any ideas what could be causing this?
