BB Bold battery drains

Hi Everyone,

I have had my BB Bold for the past couple of months and up to now I couldn't be more satisfied. However from yesterday I have been having problems with my batter. It takes forever for it to charge and when it is at maximum level it drains in like half an hour. I have noticed today that it also gets really hot when in charge.

I would take it to for someone to take a look at it except the only dealers in Dubai are for Etisalat (our service provider) and they only accept phones purchased from them. I got mine from Canada so they refuse to give me any service. I could go buy a battery but just want to make sure that it is definitely a battery problem and something else.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone ever faced this problem?

Regards,

Hamid

Re: BB Bold battery drains

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.

Yep, devices bought used or not from your carrier are not so easy to get warranty work done.

For now, you likely have some applications running in the background, like an active browser page, media player, a mapping app, etc.

With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

That will shut down all apps and reboot the BlackBerry.

Here are some good charging tips, please read and you'll see that many of them will apply to you.

Re: BB Bold battery drains

Thanks for the help J Sanders, it seems to have worked.:smileyhappy:

I reboot the battery about half an hour ago and the battery still has a lot of juice left. I really appreciate the help and advice. I will keep you posted if it starts acting weird again.

Thanks,

Hamid
