BB Desktop Update

Bb Desktop keeps brining up popup for update The download works fine, but the install just disappears with no message. Event log shows the following:

Faulting application name: install.exe_Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2008, version: 9.0.30729.1, time stamp: 0x488f1f7a

Faulting module name: install.exe, version: 9.0.30729.1, time stamp: 0x488f1f7a

Exception code: 0xc0000417

Report Id: ee426425-96a6-11e2-bb22-0026182c39ac

I have tried this 3 times, and get 3 similar messages in the event log, (only 3 messages I have for the time period - and one for one on timings, so definitely the right error message).

Specs: Win7 64 Ultimate running on Quad Core Intel MB - 3 HDDs 1tb each. 4GB DDR2 RAM. ATI Radion HD4600.

Avira Premium 2013 (turned off during install attempt).

Please advice.

Re: BB Desktop Update

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

While updates normally install just fine, sometimes they just do not...in which case, I suggest this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Good luck!
