Sorry for taking so long to reply. I have re-installed the older version of the App World, but the same problem is still there. But now when my device finished rebooting a new error "Java.lang" appears before I can use the phone.
This is terribly frustrating not getting my phone fixed.
@splashwire: No, my device was never on a BES. I am always connected to just the BIS.

Sometimes a reboot will fix the java error.

 

With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

The problem was resolved and the App World worked for 12 hours then the same original problem started again. I am hopeless now and nothing seems to work.

I have a plan with/Tmobile. Unlimited talk text w/5G data. That is not the problem! BBW was already installed on the tablet and I have all the updates, I believe!

Hello! None of the solutions offered resolved the problem. Could the answer be that BB stopped supporting the playbook in April?

Nope, all still good with App World on the PlayBook here.

 

This thread was related to smartpone use of App World.

Go to the appropriate forum section for the PlayBook.

- Have you try using Wifi?
- Uninstall App World and BlackBerry Identity.
- Install App World from http://blackberry.com/appworld/download/
- Open App World
- App World will request to download BlackBerry Identity
- Download BlackBerry Identity
- Login using your BBID account
- Open App World -» My Account -» Payment Options -» Verify BBID -» Select your Payment Methode
